A significant part of our practice involves disputes between directors, shareholders and business partners, including breaches of directors’ duties, oppression claims, shareholder disputes and the dissolution of business relationships. We act in claims for misleading and deceptive conduct and other contraventions of competition and consumer protection legislation, and in disputes arising from corporate or personal insolvency, including claims brought by or against liquidators and administrators.

On the property side, we act in commercial leasing disputes, including claims arising from breach, termination and make good obligations, and in caveat proceedings, including urgent applications to remove or maintain a caveat affecting a property’s title. We advise on and act in disputes arising from property transactions, including failed or contested sales, and disputes involving boundaries, easements and other interests in land.

We also advise clients at the pre-litigation stage, helping them to understand their rights and obligations, assess their exposure and position themselves effectively before a dispute escalates.
